Varale appointed Chief Justice of Karnataka and Marge J&K

New Delhi. Bombay High Court Judge P.B. Varale (Judge PB Varale) was on Tuesday appointed as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, while Justice A. M. Magrey was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

Justice Magrey is currently a judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. Outgoing Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Pankaj Mittal has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court.

Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted, “As per constitutional provisions, Justice Pankaj Mittal has been transferred to Rajasthan High Court as Chief Justice. Justice P.B. Varale was appointed Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court and Justice A. M. Magrey has been made the Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court. The Supreme Court collegium had made a recommendation in this regard last week. (Language)
