Three died due to tea, two are in critical condition

Mainpuri. Three people, including two children, died on Thursday while two others became seriously ill after drinking poisonous tea. Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Dixit said that Shivanandan, his sons Shivang (six) and Divyansh (five), father-in-law, after drinking tea made at the house of Shivanandan, resident of Nagla Kanhai village of Aunchha police station area in Mainpuri district. The condition of Ravindra Singh (55) and neighbor Sobran worsened. The five were immediately rushed to the district hospital where doctors declared Ravindra, Shivang and Divyansh brought dead, he said. He said that the condition of Sobran and Sivanandan is said to be critical and due to this they have been referred to Saifai.

Dixit said that during preliminary investigation, it has been found that Shivanandan’s wife Ramamurthy had unknowingly mistook the herbicide sprayed in paddy and used it as a tea leaf, due to which the tea became poisonous and the accident happened.
