Avi Barot Death: Avi Barot, former captain of India’s Under-19 team, died on Friday due to cardiac arrest. The 29-year-old Barot was also a member of the 2020 Ranji Trophy winning team of Saurashtra. The Saurashtra Cricket Association has issued its statement today regarding the death of Barot. Describing Barot as a talented player, the association has condoled his sudden demise. The entire cricketing world is also in shock due to the sudden demise of this young cricketer. Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer (Wasim Jaffer) has also condoled the death of Barot.

Saurashtra Cricket Association informed about the passing away of Avi Barot today saying, “We are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden demise of Avi Barot. Barot was a brilliant and very talented cricketer.” Association president Jaydev Shah said, “Everyone is shocked to hear about the sudden demise of Avi Barot. His cricketing skills were amazing as well as he was a great player. His performance in all domestic matches has been tremendous. He was a very friendly and kind hearted person. We are all deeply shocked by his demise.”

Wasim Jaffer also expressed grief

Former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer also condoled the death of Avi Barot, saying, “I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Avi Barot. Cardiac Arrest at the age of 29, it is heartbreaking. To his family and friends. To this I express my condolences. I hope that God will give them the strength to bear this loss.”

Was the captain of India’s Under-19 team

Avi Barot captained the India Under-19 team in the year 2011. In the same year, he was awarded the Cricketer of the Year Award by the BCCI in the Under-19 category. In his short career, Barot appeared in 38 First Class matches, 17 List A matches and 20 T20Is. In his first-class career, Barot scored 1547 runs at an impressive average of 48.49.

Barot started his career playing for the Gujarat team in the domestic circuit. After this he joined the team of Saurashtra and contributed significantly to the Ranji Trophy victory of the 2019-20 season. Earlier this year, Barot created a sensation by scoring a brilliant century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy against Goa.
