IPL News: The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday decided that the last two matches of the league phase will start at the same time at 7:30 pm. There are usually two matches in a day. The first starts at 3:30 pm Indian time and the second starts at 7:30 pm. Both the matches will be played together in the evening to prevent unfair advantage of either team. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a press release, “For the first time in the history of IPL, the last two league matches before the ‘VIVO IPL 2021’ playoff will be played together.”

According to the schedule, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Mumbai Indians (MI) in one of the last two matches and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Delhi Capitals (DC) in the other. “Instead of having one afternoon match and one evening match on the last day (08.10.2021) of the league phase of the current season, both the matches will be played simultaneously from 7.30 pm (Indian time),” he said.
