rpg attack on punjab police

Chandigarh. Two days after the Khalistan flag was put up at the main gate of the Assembly in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, there has been a major attack on the Punjab Police. On Monday night, there was a bomb attack on the headquarters of the Intelligence Branch of Punjab Police in Mohali. Police estimate that Tri Nitro Toluene (TNT) may have been used as an explosive in the attack. Punjab Director General of Police VK Bhavra said that the headquarters of the Intelligence Wing has been attacked with projectiles. Police have registered a case against unknown assailants.

The Director General of Police said that the bomb hit the wall, due to which it affected the wall itself. He also told that there was no one in the room when the attack took place. When asked about the terror attack, he said that it is being investigated now. Meanwhile, the Punjab Police has detained two suspects. According to police sources, the attack was done with the aim of blowing up the building. Meanwhile, a political dispute has started between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and other opposition parties in the state.

It is believed that due to the attack from a distance, the target was missed and the explosive hit the wall instead of going inside the window. Experts believe that if the explosives had gone straight to the room, it could have caused major damage. There is no denying the presence of foreign hands in this matter. However, the Director General of Police said that the police have got a big clue and the case will be resolved soon.

In this case, information has been received about a suspicious Swift car. This Swift car has gone towards Haryana after the blast. There too, the police raided and took some suspects into custody. Meanwhile, the team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also reaching Mohali and investigating. According to the police, the attack was carried out from about 80 meters away. Police are scanning CCTV camera footage and mobile towers to trace the attackers.
