Noida. A 32-year-old Uttar Pradesh Police constable allegedly committed suicide at the police lines of Gautam Budh Nagar district here on Friday. Police said that preliminary investigation revealed that family dispute was the reason behind the suicide.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Ram Badan Singh said that Arun Kumar, posted in the police line, had joined the police force in 2011. He told that Kumar committed suicide by hanging himself. According to him, the police of Surajpur police station has sent the body for post-mortem. Singh said that Kumar’s wife, who hails from Saharanpur district, is also in the police and the couple used to live in the residential campus of Police Lines here. He told that after talking to the people around, it has come to know that there used to be a dispute between the husband and wife.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that according to the wife of the deceased, even before this, he used to lock the room several times by threatening suicide. The police have informed the relatives of the deceased. (Language)
