Notice on refusal of medical admission due to stammer

The top court was hearing a plea of ​​the girl who has challenged the amended rules of the Medical Council of India on Graduate Medical Education, 1997. Issuing the notice, the bench said that as a result of the rules, the petitioner was not admitted to the course on the ground that the impediment to articulate speech (stammer) is more than 40 per cent though the petitioner is suffering from standard disability under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Is.

The petition has challenged the Graduate Amended Medical Education Regulations, 1997, due to which the petitioner was not allowed to appear in the examination.
