Governor’s controversy and ED raid

Never before have there been so many coincidences in Indian politics as they are happening now. As soon as the BJP or its supporting government in a state gets caught in a dispute or gets into trouble, the raids by the central agencies start. Just a few days ago, it happened in Bihar, where the news of BJP’s ally JDU growing closer to the opposition RJD came and the CBI started arresting RJD leaders. Now the same story has happened in Maharashtra. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari made a statement hurting the sentiments of Marathi Manus, which triggered an all-out controversy. Even before this dispute escalated, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) started raids against Sanjay Raut.

Governor Koshyari said in a program on Friday that if Gujaratis and Rajasthanis are expelled, nothing will be left in Mumbai and then Mumbai will not be called the financial capital of the country. Controversy started on this on Saturday and all the leaders including Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Eknath Shinde etc. criticized it. Before this controversy escalated, ED raids started on Sanjay Raut’s place on Sunday. The ED has questioned him several times before. Then questions are being raised on the timing of the raid. This has turned the whole debate in the other direction. Not only this, another central agency CBI on Saturday again took action against businessman Avinash Bhosle in Pune and seized his helicopter. Now both these matters are discussed. Earlier, there was a dispute going on in the state for not forming the cabinet for a month and the statement of the Governor.
