25 crore approved for Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi

Jaipur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved an additional budget provision of Rs 25 crore for the establishment of ‘Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi’ for the financial management of self-help groups of the state. Approved. Women will get social and economic progress from this fund. With this initiative of the government, the women of the group will easily be able to get easy and sufficient amount of credit for their daily needs and self-employment and income earning activities. This will make the women of the state financially empowered.

It is noteworthy that Gehlot had started Mahila Nidhi on the occasion of Women’s Equality Day on August 26. Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi has been formed through Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council (Rajeevika). Rajasthan is the first state in North India, where Mahila Nidhi has been established.

In the budget 2022-23, Ashok Gehlot had announced to provide a contribution of Rs 50 crore in the next 2 years for the establishment of women’s fund. At present, 2.70 lakh self-help groups have been formed in 33 districts of the state, in which 30 lakh families are connected. (talk)
