IAS officer Jitendra Narayan suspended, accused of raping in the name of job

New Delhi | Jitendra Narain Suspend: In a very sensational and shameful gangrape case from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, senior IAS officer of 1990 batch Jitendra Narayan has been suspended by the government with immediate effect. The 21-year-old girl had accused various officials, including the former chief secretary, of gang-rape on the pretext of getting a government job. After which the investigation of this case has been handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Jitendra Narain Suspend : In this case, the police had registered an FIR against the accused IAS Jitendra Narayan and RL Rishi on October 1. Jitendra Narayan has been the chief secretary of Andaman and Nicobar till three months back, while RL Rishi is the labor commissioner. The girl, who was victimized by the officials, alleges that the officers called her to the house on the pretext of giving her a job. For which she went to meet him, but she was ‘gang-raped’. The woman said that since her father and stepmother were not able to meet her financial needs, she needed a job and some people introduced her to the labor commissioner in this regard, as he was close to the then chief secretary. Apart from this, the woman has also claimed that the Chief Secretary has appointed ‘7800 people on recommendation basis’ in the island.

Jitendra Narain Suspend : Giving this information, the Union Home Ministry issued a statement on Monday and said that the victim girl gave a complaint to the police. In which he gave full details of the rape of himself on April 14 and May 1. Along with this requested to keep the footage of the CCTV cameras of the then Chief Secretary’s house safe for proof.
