Kashmiri Shia leader Abbas Ansari passes away

Srinagar. Senior Shia Muslim leader, Molvi Abbas Ansari passed away on Tuesday in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Family sources said that 86-year-old Molvi Abbas Ansari passed away in the morning at his Nawakadal residence in old Srinagar city. He had been ailing for some time and a few days back he was shifted from the hospital to his home. He was the head of Ittihadul Muslimeen, a Shia religious party that was a part of the separatist group, the all-party Hurriyat Conference. He was also the former president of Hurriyat Conference.
