It is the world’s most advanced and effective surface-to-air missile system. If India deploys it on the Line of Control in Kashmir, then Pakistan will not be able to do any air strike inside our border even if it wants. Even if she did attack, it could shoot down thirty-two of her planes at once. But America did not want India to buy this missile defense system from Russia.

America is the most powerful country in the world, but it is also afraid of a Brahmastra. That is Russia’s S-400 missile defense system. When India made a deal with Russia, America’s mercury went up. Basically, the deployment of S-400 means guaranteeing the security of the country and the strike of this missile means an impenetrable shield in the sky. No matter how powerful an enemy missile may be, any fighter aircraft, covertly infiltrating drone, it cannot cross the border with the S-400.

Russia has started supplying S-400 to India. It is the world’s most dangerous anti-missile system. It can deal with multiple threats at once. It can keep an eye on the movements of the enemy from hundreds of kilometers away and in the blink of an eye, destroys his plans. This missile system can cause destruction on thirty-six targets simultaneously. It is equipped with four types of missiles and can destroy the enemy with a lethal strike from a distance of forty to four hundred kilometers.

That is, if it is deployed in Delhi, it will destroy any enemy aircraft or missile before reaching Agra. It has a long range missile, which can hit up to 400 km. The second missile is of medium range, which can strike up to 250 km. The third missile is of medium-short range, which can attack up to one hundred and twenty kilometers and the fourth missile is of short range, which can destroy the enemy within a radius of forty kilometers.

This defense system is equipped with the most advanced radars, allowing it to detect its 300 targets up to a distance of six hundred kilometers and destroy them in a matter of minutes. It can be easily moved from one place to another and can be deployed for attack within just five minutes. After India gets this missile system, the strength of the Indian Air Force will increase manifold.

The S-400 defense missile system can shoot down up to fifth generation stealth mode fighter aircraft. Not even America’s most advanced F-35 fighter jet can escape it. There are mainly three parts to this defense system. The first part is the target management radar system, which determines the distance of the enemy. This is followed by the command center, which, by setting the distance of the enemy attack, directs the missile launcher to attack and the third part is the missile launcher, from which the missile is released to attack its target.

It is the world’s most advanced and effective surface-to-air missile system. If India deploys this missile defense system along the Line of Control in Kashmir, then Pakistan will not be able to do any air strike inside our border even if it wants. Even if it did attack, it could shoot down thirty-two of its planes at once. The most important aspect of this defense system is the impact of the deployment of this defense system on the border on China and Pakistan, because these two are our enemy countries. But America did not want India to buy this missile defense system from Russia. In this regard, a law was brought in the US in 2017, so that if a country makes a defense deal with Russia despite opposition, then it will be banned. The question is, will America now impose sanctions on India too?

India is going to get a total of five regiments of S-400, which will have five mobile command centers, ten radars and ten launchers. That is, Pakistan and China may not even think about air strikes on India now. India has bought these five regiments from Russia for forty nine thousand crore rupees. The entire deal is worth about forty thousand crores. Its first regiment may be deployed near the western border, from where both Pakistan and China can be kept under pressure. However, challenges lie before India as well.

Pakistan may not have this missile defense system, but China already has six regiments of this missile defense system. One of these systems he has deployed in Tibet, near Arunachal Pradesh. The second system he has deployed in Ladakh. China is ahead of us in this matter. It had bought the first S-400 missile from Russia in 2018, but due to not being part of the treaty called Missile Technology Control Regime, it also suffered its loss. Under this treaty, no missile with a range of more than 300 km can be sold to a country that is not a member of it. Meaning China got S-400 missiles from Russia, but their firepower is up to a maximum of two hundred and fifty kilometers. Whereas the defense system that India has got, its firepower is maximum four hundred kilometers.

From the very beginning, America did not want India to ever buy this missile defense system from Russia. There was a law in the US in 2017 that if a country makes an arms deal with Russia, then it will be banned. There this law is called ‘Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act’. America made this law to weaken Russia in arms exports. a

America also exports the highest thirty-seven percent of weapons in the whole world. Russia’s arms market share is around 20 percent. In 2018, when China bought the same S-400 missile defense system from Russia, the US imposed sanctions on China. Similarly, Turkey also bought this system, so America had imposed many strict sanctions on it. The US had revoked his export license, blacklisted him and confiscated his assets.

It is possible that in the case of India also America will take similar steps after some time. However, in the case of India, an exception can also be made. Donald Trump passed a law in Parliament, under which the US exempted those countries from the sanctions law, which were already doing defense related transactions with Russia. In the context of India, this law is applicable, because even today most of the weapons with India are from Russia. Russia has been India’s largest defense ally since the 1960s.

According to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, between 2012 and 2016, sixty-eight percent of India’s defense imports were with Russia. On this basis, India can get exemption from sanctions. Secondly, after the standoff with China, America’s most trusted ally in Asia is India. India is also a member of the Quad. Therefore, by imposing sanctions on India, America would not want to weaken itself in this area and would not want to spoil its relations with India either.
