Grant of Rs 387 crore received for construction of diggi in Rajasthan

Jaipur. Under the Chief Minister Krishak Sathi Yojana (Mukhyamantri Krishak Sathi Yojana), run by the Rajasthan government for the welfare of farmers, more than nine thousand farmers have been provided with Rs 387 crore for diggy construction. More grants have been given.

Commissioner of Agriculture Department Kanaram said that Rs 387 crore three lakh has been paid to nine thousand 596 farmers for the construction of diggi in the last four years under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Sathi Yojana. He informed that in the agriculture budget announcement for the year 2022-23, a grant of Rs 450 crore is proposed to be given to 15 thousand farmers in the next three years under the Rajasthan Micro Irrigation Mission.

He informed that under the scheme, additional 10 percent subsidy is being given by the state government to small and marginal farmers for construction of diggs. For other farmers, the grant amount is 75 percent of the cost or a maximum of three lakh rupees (whichever amount is less), while small and marginal farmers are being given 85 percent of the cost, with a maximum limit of Rs 3 lakh 40 thousand. In order to provide maximum benefits to small and marginal farmers, a provision has been made to benefit minimum 40 percent small and marginal farmers under the scheme.

He told that to take advantage of the scheme, the farmer must have minimum 0.5 hectare irrigated agricultural land. After making the diggy, the farmers will have to set up sprinkler, drip, micro sprinkler plants for irrigation. After which the prescribed grant will be payable by the State Government. To take advantage of the scheme, farmers can apply online on the Raj Kisan Sathi portal of the Agriculture Department.
