Indian Air Force got four indigenous combat helicopters

Jodhpur. The Indian Air Force formally inducted the indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) into its fleet here on Monday. This will further increase the strength of the Air Force as this multifunctional helicopter is capable of firing a variety of missiles and using weapons.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal V.R. Four helicopters were inducted into the IAF fleet in the presence of Chowdhary (Air Chief Marshal VR Chowdhary). The Defense Minister said, this is an important moment which shows India’s capability in defense production.

The LCH has been developed by the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and has been specially designed for high altitude deployment. The need for such a helicopter was felt after the Kargil war of 1999. The 5.8-tonne and twin-engine helicopter has already been tested for the use of several weapons, officials said. (Language)
