Rohit Sharma named India’s T20 captain: The BCCI has announced the Indian team for the T20 series against New Zealand (NZ Series). The command of the team has been handed over to Rohit Sharma. Star opener KL Rahul will be the vice-captain of the team. Venkatesh Iyer and Harshal Patel will be the new faces in the team.
Leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has returned to the team. The three-match T20 series between India and New Zealand will be played from November 17. The first match will be played on 17th, second 19th and third match on 21st November. Four veterans of Team India have been rested for the T20 series. It has Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami.
Apart from these, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also not been selected in the team. It is believed that Hardik Pandya’s poor fitness has become the reason for his non-selection. At the same time, leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, Varun Chakraborty have been discharged from the team.

6 batsmen, 2 wicketkeepers, 3 spinners and 5 fast bowlers have been given place in the team. While Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Rituraj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer will show their strength in the batting, Axar Patel, R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will take charge of the spin. Avesh Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj will handle the fast bowling. Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan will be the two wicketkeepers of the team.
