Ram Mandir or Article 370, Modi government has made what seemed impossible: Amit Shah

Referring to the abrogation of Article 370 and the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that the Narendra Modi government has made possible what seemed impossible earlier. Shah was addressing an election rally of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Himachal Pradesh in the state’s Sirmaur district. He said that on August 5, 2019, the Modi government abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. He asked the gathering, did you ever think that Article 370 would be repealed.

He said that if you talk to Congress leaders and workers about Article 370, they remain silent because it was brought by Nehru. On the construction of Ram temple, Shah said that the Congress used to taunt us and used to say ‘He will build the temple, will not tell the date. He said that Prime Minister Modi started the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. Shah said that whether it is the construction of Ram temple or the abrogation of Article 370, the Modi government has made possible what seemed impossible earlier. He said that the Prime Minister has ended ‘familyism’ in politics.

Shah said the days of king and queen were gone and Prime Minister Modi changed the name of Rajpath in Delhi to duty path and installed a grand statue of Subhas Chandra Bose there. He also reminded the gathering about the ‘surgical strikes carried out by the armed forces in response to the terrorist attack. He said that the Modi government has brought the Indian economy from number 11 to fifth in the world in just eight years. He said that Prime Minister Modi ended 55 years of struggle of the people of the Girpar region by giving tribal status to the Hatti community, which would benefit 1.60 lakh people.

He said that after getting tribal status, now the Hatti community will get the benefit of reservation, for which Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had put a lot of pressure on the Center. He said that however, Congress started instigating the Dalit community that by giving tribal status to the Hatti community, their reservation rights would be nullified.

Shah said that he wanted to make it clear that the Dalits of the area would continue to get the same reservation as they were getting earlier. He said that it is time for the people of Himachal Pradesh to change the trend of electing parties alternately in every election, as the people of Uttarakhand have done recently. Shah listed out the achievements of BJP governments at the Center and in the state and urged voters to re-elect the BJP in the assembly elections to be held on November 12. Earlier, Shah launched the BJP’s election song Himachal Ki Pukar, then the BJP government. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and former BJP state president Rajiv Bindal also addressed the gathering.
