Four arrested in fake call center case

New Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested four people from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh for duping more than a thousand people through fake call centers on the pretext of giving them jobs. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chaudhary said that a team of police went to Basant Vihar in Bareilly. Four accused were arrested after raiding there.

The accused have been identified as Pranshu (27), Himanshu (20), Pankaj Pandey (27) and Deepak Kumar (28), police said. Pranshu and Himanshu are residents of Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh, while Pankaj is from Faridabad and Deepak is from Badarpur here.

According to a senior police officer, a woman alleged that some people duped her of Rs 2,76,072 lakh in the name of getting a job. The complainant had applied for a job and was offered a job from three numbers for the post of manager in the Human Resources (HR) department of a company, the official said.

Police said that after the payment, a fake appointment certificate was sent to the complainant girl on the letterhead of the said company. He said that during the investigation it was found that a fake call center was being operated from Bareilly. He said that the bank account details and call detail records of the accused revealed that many people were duped by them. (Language)
