Dengue havoc in Delhi

New Delhi. Over 900 cases of dengue have been reported in the national capital in October, taking the total number of cases of the disease to 1,876 this year. This information has been given in the report released by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Tuesday.

Delhi has reported 194 cases of malaria and 38 cases of chikungunya this year. According to the report, till October 12, the number of dengue cases stood at 1,572. Over 300 new cases were reported the next week, taking the total number of dengue cases in Delhi to 1,876 till October 19 this year.

In September, 693 cases of dengue were registered. This is the highest number of dengue cases reported since 2017—during the period from January 1 to October 19, the report said. That year, 3,272 cases of dengue were reported during this period. The report said that no one has died of dengue so far this year, while 23 people died of the disease in 2021. (Language)
