Guidelines will be issued soon
The government may soon announce guidelines regarding flex-fuel and compel car manufacturers to make flex-fuel engines in future. It is considered more practical than an electrical vehicle. Along with petrol and CNG, flex fuel will be the third option. A flex fuel engine can basically run on standalone or a mixture of two types of fuel, Maruti is planning to introduce ethanol powered flex fuel vehicle. Usually a mixture of petrol and ethanol is used, flex fuel will be cheaper than petrol, but the cost of purchasing such a vehicle can be high.
