Snowfall in high altitude areas in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar. The higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir received light snowfall during the last 24 hours, bringing down the day temperature. Meteorology said on Wednesday that there is a possibility of light rain with mainly clear skies in the next 24 hours. A Meteorological Department official said, “There has been light snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours.

During the next 24 hours there is a chance of mainly light rain with clear skies. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 5, Pahalgam 0.6 and Gulmarg minus 0.4 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature was minus 3.4 in Dras town of Ladakh region and 0.4 in Kargil. The minimum temperature in Jammu was 16.8, Katra 14.2, Batote 6.5, Banihal 4.6 and Bhaderwah 4.9. (IANS)
