Rahul Dravid Appointed New Head Coach of Team India: The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) today appointed former Indian captain and veteran batsman Rahul Dravid as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. According to a BCCI press release, the Cricket Advisory Committee of Sulakshana Naik and RP Singh has appointed Rahul Dravid as the new head coach of Team India.

After being appointed the head coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid said, “It is a great honor to be appointed as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team and I am ready for this responsibility. The team performed very well under the leadership of Ravi Shastri. And I look forward to working with the team to take this forward.”

He added, “Having worked closely with most of the boys in the NCA, U19 and India A setups, I know they have the passion and desire to improve every day. Some of the major multi-team events in the next two years are, And I look forward to working with the players and support staff to achieve their potential.”

The BCCI in its press release wrote, “The Board congratulates Ravi Shastri (Former Team Director and Head Coach), B Arun (Bowling Coach), R Sridhar (Fielding Coach) and Vikram Rathor (Batting Coach) for their successful tenures. Under Shastri’s leadership, the Indian cricket team took a bold and fearless approach and performed brilliantly both at home and away. The Indian team became the world’s number one team in the test format and made it to the finals of the first World Test Championship.”
