SUV and van collide in Rajasthan, four people including newborn died

quota. Four people, including a one-day-old newborn, died in a collision between an SUV and a van on National Highway-52 in Rajasthan’s Bundi district.

Police said on Saturday that Hansraj Meena, his wife Rekha (24) and mother Nandubai (62) were returning to their home in Chandadhand village with the couple’s newborn child on Friday night when Devkheda Mor in the area under Hindoli police station. But his van collided head-on with an SUV.

Head constable Phoolchand of Hindoli police station said that Rekha, Nandubhai, the newborn child and Pintu Meena (30), the van driver of Umrach village, died on the spot. At the same time, Hansraj Meena has suffered serious injuries and is being treated at a private hospital in Kota.

Phoolchand said that the SUV driver and another person sitting in it fled leaving the vehicle at the spot. The four bodies were handed over to the family after the post-mortem, police said.
