congress president post candidates of Shashi Tharoor said on Sunday that he Mallikarjun Kharge are ready for public debate with the United Kingdom, as it will generate public interest in the party in the same way as it was recently in the election of the Conservative Party leadership in Britain. On his remarks, Kharge said that he and Tharoor have to fight together against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Kharge also said that today he and Tharoor have to work together on the issue of inflation and unemployment and against the ideology of BJP and RSS. Tharoor also said that the Nehru-Gandhi family has and will always have a special place in the hearts of members of the Congress party. He said the answer to the Congress’s current challenges lies in a combination of effective leadership and organizational reform.

Contest between Kharge and Tharoor in the election for the post of Congress President

Notably, former Jharkhand minister K. N. After Tripathi’s nomination papers were rejected on Saturday, the contest for the post of Congress President will now be between Kharge and Tharoor. Tharoor said, I have a reliable track record of leading organizations at the highest level. As the Under-Secretary-General in charge of the United Nations Department of Public Information, I handled communications for the largest UN department of over 800 personnel in 77 offices around the world. In view of this, many people requested me to contest elections to lead the United Nations Organization.

The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers for the post of Congress President is October 8. If needed, elections will be held on October 17. The counting of votes will take place on October 19 and the results will be declared on the same day. Asked if he wanted a public debate among the party’s presidential candidates on the lines of many western countries, Tharoor said, “I am open to the idea.”

Tharoor gave the example of Conservative Party of Britain

According to him, there is no ideological difference between us. The only question is how will we achieve the objective on which we have all agreed. Tharoor said the exchange of ideas would also attract the attention of those sections who do not vote. He also said, I have always said that the effect of exchange of ideas between candidates will be beneficial for the party. For example, we saw that there was global interest in the recent election to the leadership of Britain’s Conservative Party.

According to Tharoor, if a similar scenario takes place here, then the interest in the Congress party will increase at the national level and once again those voters who were in favor of the party will be mobilized once again in favor of the party. When asked about Tharoor’s remarks, Kharge told reporters, “I will say with clarity what I have to say.” They are learned people, educated people, maybe they can be interested in debate. I don’t want to get into that. I only know how to work and give it a chance.

He said, injustice is being done to Dalits and the poor, women, minorities, backward and many people. Inflation and unemployment are rising. We both have to fight together. We are both from the same household. When there are people of the same household, there is no question of fighting against each other. Kharge said, let us fight together against those who are promoting inflation, who are promoting unemployment, who are creating a quarrel among people, who are fighting religion with religion, who are fighting in the name of language. Getting into a fight.

He said, if we want to debate, then both of us together should do it against him, we will fight against the ideology of RSS and BJP. There is no use in arguing amongst themselves. There is no benefit for the country in this, nor is there any benefit for the party. We have to fight, those who are working against our ideology, we have to fight them. Kharge said, our struggle is with BJP, Modi-Shah. We both have to work together against those people who are destroying the country, destroying the society, destroying the people. So there is an appeal, most of all, do not get into who said what and who is saying what.
