Srinagar. Ishrat Akhtar, who hails from Baramulla district in North Kashmir, has accepted her physical weakness as a blessing, becoming a role model for many others. Akhtar has won the honor of being the first international wheelchair basketball player from Kashmir. She has represented the country many times at the international and national level and has now become a Motivational Speaker. His words especially help those who are physically handicapped. Talking to the media, Ishrat Akhtar says that he had an accident on 24 August 2016, due to which his spinal cord was broken.

She then became permanently disabled and was forced to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair. She was earlier a healthy village girl until she accidentally fell from the balcony of her house. After this accident, Akhtar had to go through a lot of difficulties during which he could not believe that he would be able to stand on his feet again. During this, he also suffered mental stress, but courage and independence gave him such an opportunity that today he is one of the successful people in the list. Akhtar says that one day she went to the Indoor Stadium in Srinagar, where the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India camp was being organized, and got selected for the national level. went. Akhtar says she never thought she could become a wheelchair basketball player and represent her country.

He had to go to different states to participate in the championship. He said that he had to travel from Baramulla to Srinagar every day for training as there were many problems due to lack of infrastructure in Baramulla. It was a difficult period for him, but it was only after he got over it that he got the full support of his parents. His parents always encouraged him and never let him down. Akhtar said that no work in the world is difficult and if there is passion in the heart, then a person can achieve anything in the world. She says that she wants to participate in more Wheelchair Basketball Championships in future and want to make not only Jammu and Kashmir but entire India proud. (IANS)
