Chitrakoot. Two women were killed and 18 others were injured when a tractor-trolley full of devotees overturned uncontrollably in Bharatkup area of Chitrakoot district.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Chakrapani Tripathi gave this information on Tuesday. He told that on Monday evening some devotees were returning by tractor-trolley from a Devasthan in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh after performing the mundan rites of the child.
Tripathi said that the tractor-trolley overturned uncontrollably near Colava-Manpur turn of Bharatkup police station area. In this accident, 65-year-old woman Shivkumari died on the spot, while a woman named Maina Devi succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, he said. Tripathi said that the other 18 pilgrims injured in the accident are being treated at the government hospital. Three of them are in critical condition. (Language)
