Jaipur. Four policemen were injured in stone pelting by people protesting against the removal of a temple in Abu Road area of Rajasthan’s Sirohi district on Wednesday. An officer gave this information. The official said that the High Court had ordered the removal of encroachment near a pond.
Some people started pelting stones when the structure of a small temple near Abu Road pond was being removed on the directions of the High Court, a police official said. Sirohi Superintendent of Police Mamta Gupta said, “Four policemen were injured in the stone pelting.
The removal of the temple was being done on the instructions of the High Court and the local people were opposing it. He said that the police have detained some people involved in stone pelting and the situation is under control.
