Pakistan Shaheens Do Team Sajdah After Beating India A In Emerging Asia Cup Final | Watch – Cricket Country

PAKISTAN A thrashed India A by 128 runs in the emerging Asia Cup final to successfully defend their title. The team lost to India in the league stage but bought out their A-game when it mattered the most. A magnificent 108 by Tayyab Tahir, 65 by Sahibzada Farhan, and 59 by Saim Ayub helped Pakistan Shaheen posts a mammoth score of 352-8 in 50 overs.

India got off to a flier in their chase and raced to 64 in the 9th over before the in-form Sai Sudharsan fell for 29. Abhishek Sharma stayed afloat and kept the run rate up. Despite the wicket of Nikin Jose for 11, India were in the hunt, courtesy of Sharma (61), and Yash Dhull’s (39) partnership.

Both batters, however, fell in quick succession which triggered a collapse as India collapsed to 224 all-out. For Pakistan, Sufiyan Muqeem took three wickets while Arshad Iqbal, Mehran Mumtaz, and Mohammad Wasim Jr bagged two wickets apiece.

Post the remarkable win, the Pakistan team thanked the almighty and did a team sajdah. Watch Video.

Yash Dhull Blames Poor Shots Selection For Loss In Final

Yash Dhull praised Pakistan for their show in the final and rued poor shot selections for the batting collapse.

“They batted very well, we controlled it well in the middle, but they batted well. It was a big target but we played some poor shots. The decision was okay, but they batted well and the wicket was also fresh. We played some bad shots [at three wickets down] and went down from there. None of us have played international cricket so it was a good platform for us to play and a good environment.”

Pakistan captain Mohammad Haris was also elated after the win and credited the team for performing well under pressure.

“Firstly, I would like to congratulate all of Pakistan. This is what happens, when you score big runs in a final, the opposition comes under pressure and then if you get back-to-back wickets it gets tough for them. We had tried different combinations in the last four-five matches, tried different players, and it worked well for us.

We had shown the videos of the Indian batters to our bowlers. Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek were their main players and we thought that if we could get them out early, it would help us. I am very happy with how motivated the boys are. We have the Asia Cup also coming up and the World Cup too after that. Sri Lanka is a tough place to play spin. So it was good preparation.
