The New Zealand team is on a tour of Pakistan for a three-match ODI and a five-match T20I series. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board says that this series will be played later and it has been postponed for the time being.

New Zealand has canceled the current tour of Pakistan citing ‘increased’ in the security threat level. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) chief executive David White said it was not possible to continue the tour given the advice he was receiving. “I understand it will be a blow to the Pakistan Cricket Board, which has been a wonderful host. But the safety of the players is paramount and we believe that is the only responsible option,” he said.

The New Zealand Cricket Board said in its official statement, “Before going to Lahore for the five-match T20 series, from today we had to play a three-match ODI series against Pakistan. However, from the New Zealand government, we have been informed of the danger in Pakistan. After this, we have taken the decision after consulting the security advisors that the Kiwi team will not continue this tour. Now arrangements are being made for the team to return.
