Stampede situation in SP due to change in attitude of Shivpal, Azam

Lucknow. Despite the Samajwadi Party emerging as the single largest party after the recently concluded assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, its chief Akhilesh Yadav’s clan is now disintegrating. All the leaders including uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav and the strong pillar of the party, Mohammad Azam Khan, are now desperate to find a new way out of the party. Along with Shivpal and Azam supporters, all the SP leaders have now started resigning by questioning the working of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

From western UP to Purvanchal, many Muslim leaders have started doing their positioning, questioning the political acumen of Akhilesh Yadav. In this sequence, senior Muslim leaders of the party have even dared to accuse Akhilesh Yadav of not raising the voice of Muslims. No one in the party had leveled this allegation before. Taking cognizance of this displeasure of Muslim leaders in the party, Akhilesh Yadav has made a gamble to persuade the angry leaders by bringing Mulayam Singh forward, but the attitude of the leaders who are angry with Akhilesh Yadav has not changed yet.

SP Patron Mulayam Singh Yadav is believed to be not giving any message of any side to the disgruntled leaders. On April 15, Akhilesh Yadav had a long meeting with Mulayam Singh Yadav regarding the dissatisfaction of the party. In this meeting, Akhilesh Yadav discussed with Mulayam Singh Yadav for about an hour about the displeasure of Shivpal Singh Yadav, Shafiqur Rahman and Azam Khan camp. But after this meeting no message was given by Mulayam Singh Yadav to the camp of Shivpal Singh Yadav, Shafiqur Rahman and Azam Khan. In such a situation, the discontented Muslim leaders exposed the dissatisfaction of the Muslim leaders by resigning from the pro-party leader Irshad Khan on 16 April.

Earlier, Sambhal SP MP Shafiqur Rahman Burke had also said that SP is not raising the voice of Muslims. Whereas senior SP leader Azam Khan’s media in-charge Fasahat Ali Shanu has said in a program that in the last two and a half years, Akhilesh Yadav did not make any effort to get Azam Khan out of jail. After the statements of these leaders, when there was no statement from Akhilesh Yadav’s side, then on April 13, Salman Javed Raine, who is said to be a supporter of Azam, criticized Akhilesh Yadav for not raising his voice for Azam Khan, SP MLA Nahid Hasan and Shahjil Islam. On the question, the SP resigned and after that the same decision was taken by Irshad Khan, a former minister of state with status in the SP government. With the resignation of these Muslim leaders of SP, it is now clear that the Muslim leaders of the party are doing their positioning.

Under which the Muslim leaders of the party, especially Azam Khan, his family and the leaders close to him are trying to save themselves. Azam Khan’s entire family is trapped in different cases. Some people have been imprisoned and Azam himself is still in jail. One by one, they are getting bail from the court but they feel that complete liberation is not possible without keeping distance from SP. That is why he has openly given a message of distance from SP. Under which his media in-charge Fasahat Ali Khan fiercely targeted the SP leadership. Said that SP got 111 seats on the basis of Muslims but the party is not doing anything for Muslims. The SP leadership made him ie Azam Khan and other Muslims as enemies of BJP and are enjoying themselves. Certainly this statement has been made with the consent of Azam Khan.

SP MP Shafiqur Rahman Burke has also targeted SP National President Akhilesh Yadav and expressed his displeasure saying that the party is not doing anything for Muslims but his point is different. They keep coming and going in and out of SP. As for Shivpal Yadav, he is angry because Akhilesh did not make him the Leader of Opposition and did not give him respect in the party. In such a situation, these angry leaders of SP are trying to separate from the party and make a new hideout for the people who are angry with Akhilesh Yadav’s working. If these leaders are successful in their cause, then Shivpal, Azam and Shafiqur Rahman Barq will be successful in making a dent in the Yadav Muslim vote bank by bringing together the leaders who are angry with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. This is the opinion of all the political analysts of UP. SP patronage Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav feel the same way. This is the reason why Akhilesh Yadav has now taken the initiative to end the discontent in the party through Mulayam Singh Yadav. However, in the last assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav did not take Mulayam Singh’s opinion in the matter of ticket distribution to compromise with political parties. In such a situation, now it remains to be seen how and how much Akhilesh Yadav will be able to convince the angry leaders of the party with the help of Mulayam Singh Yadav?
