Notice to VVSS chief over ‘power of attorney’ to Yogi

Varanasi Police has issued notice to Vishwa Vaidik Sanatan Sangh (VVSS) chief Jitendra Singh Visen to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with power of attorney in five cases related to Gyanvapi case. ) has sought clarification on his declaration. Visen has been asked to clarify whether the chief minister’s prior consent was taken in the matter, with the police giving him three days to respond or face legal action. While issuing notice to Visen, Inspector Chowk Shivkant Mishra, citing his statement published in newspapers, claimed that he is the power of attorney of all the five Gyanvapi related cases being fought in different courts by VVSS or its affiliates. The published statement shows that the consent of the Chief Minister was not taken for this. Doubts are being created due to misleading and baseless declaration. How can a chief minister become a party in a case when the state of UP and its local officials are already named as respondents. In the notice, Visen has been directed to give an explanation in this regard within three days, otherwise legal and punitive action will be initiated against him. Visen admitted that he had received the notice. “It is a legal notice, which is not surprising to me and I will give my reply within the stipulated time,” he said. He said, I have serious objection to the action taken by the government officials on ‘Gyanvapi Mosque’. This structure is being claimed by us to be a temple and the matter is under consideration.

How can an official in an official document certify it as a mosque? I have started the formalities for seeking permission of the Chief Minister and other concerned officers for allowing registration of a case against Inspector Chowk under section 153A of IPC for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race . Visen said, “I will file a case against the Chowk police for claiming the Gyanvapi structure as a mosque in the notice, as the matter is sub-judice and no government official can authenticate it as a mosque in official documents.” Visen said that he would hand over the power of attorney of these cases to Mahant Yogi Adityanath of the Goraksha bench and not to any Chief Minister. “Earlier we had decided to complete the power of attorney papers by November 15, but now the process is being expedited to complete this process in two-three days,” he said. On 28 October, Wissen announced the handing over of the power of attorney.
