Nine-year-old girl raped in Madhya Pradesh

Indore (MP). A nine-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a man from a construction site in Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. The police gave this information on Sunday. Indore Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Tolani told reporters that the girl has been admitted to the hospital and her condition is stated to be critical. He said the incident took place on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday at the site of an under-construction building in Rajendra Nagar area where the girl’s father works as a watchman. Tolani said that the 32-year-old accused allegedly abducted the girl while she was sleeping with her parents in a hut at the spot. He said that the accused took the girl to the other side of the under construction site and raped her there.

The victim was seriously injured and was bleeding. On hearing the cries of the girl, her parents came to rescue her, the official said. He was taken to the nearest hospital and the police were informed about the incident. He said that based on the CCTV footage of the area, the police traced the accused resident of Ahirkhedi village in Indore district. Tolani said the accused was arrested on Saturday evening and has confessed to the crime before the police. A case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, along with other sections of the Indian Penal Code, including kidnapping, rape and other sections of the Indian Penal Code, the official said.
