‘My Job Is To Perform’: Babar On Chopra’s FAB 4 Comment

Pakistan captain Babar Azam who is currently in Sri Lanka for the Test series gave the reply to former India cricketer Akash Chopra’s statement that he is not yet part of the renowned Test cricket’s “Fab Four” that includes Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, and Joe Root.

During the pre match press conference against Sri Lanka at Galle, the Pakistan captain said that his focus is to keep giving performances.

“Everyone has their own point of view and opinion. My job is to perform. All the records I have broken thus far were due to my performances. My focus is to keep giving performances, so the name will keep coming everywhere by itself,” Babar said.

Pakistan will play two Test matches against Sri Lanka which will start from 16 July and will be played at Galle International Cricket Stadium and Singhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground respectively.

Babar Azam On Shaheen Shah Afridi

Left-arm fast-bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s return to the Pakistan Test team after a year out due to a knee injury has pleased his captain Babar Azam the most ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting on Sunday at the Galle International To install Cricket Stadium.

Afridi will be playing in Tests for Pakistan after almost a year since he injured his right knee caused by landing awkwardly at the boundary trying to stop the ball in the first of the two Tests, co-incidentally against Sri Lanka at Galle last year.

Though he recovered to play the Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia last year, Shaheen again twisted that previously-injured right knee in the final against England, ruling him out of the home season.

“I am particularly pleased with the return of Shaheen Shah Afridi. Besides his wicket-taking abilities, his presence always motivates and lifts the side. I know Shaheen has badly missed red-ball cricket and is now hungry for Test cricket,” said Azam in a PCB statement ahead of the first Test.
