Political whirlwind in Jharkhand: ED summons ignored, Soren on his way to Chhattisgarh

Ranchi. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday ignored summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and was on his way to Chhattisgarh to attend a program organized by the tribal community. The ED had summoned Soren for questioning in a case related to alleged illegal mining. The ED had asked Soren to appear at its regional office at 11 am for questioning, but the chief minister did not go there.

Addressing Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) workers near his residence, Soren said, “The ED has summoned me as part of a conspiracy. If I have committed a crime, arrest me instead of summoning me for questioning. He said, I am neither scared nor worried. Rather, I am getting stronger. If the people of Jharkhand want, the opposition will have no place to hide. Soren said that he is going to Raipur to participate in the ‘Adivasi Mahotsav’, he has been invited from there. The JMM working president alleged that the BJP was trying to topple the democratically elected government in the state from day one.
