Panaji. Goa Forward Party (GFP) president Vijay Sardesai on Tuesday joined Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Madhya Pradesh. Apart from Sardesai, several party leaders including Durgadas Kamat, Santosh Kumar Sawant, Deepak Kalangutkar took part in a padyatra with Rahul Gandhi in Indore on Tuesday morning. The GFP had forged an alliance with the Congress in this year’s Goa assembly elections.
Sardesai said he had received an invitation to join the padayatra and accepted it as an ally of the Congress and “as a mark of respect to all those who are doing padyatras across the country”. He said that the mission of the yatra is to emphasize on unity and stop the spread of hatred in the country.
