14 days judicial custody for Amanatullah Khan

New Delhi. A Delhi court on Monday sent Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan to 14-day judicial custody in a case related to alleged financial misappropriation and other irregularities in the functioning of the Delhi Waqf Board.

Khan was arrested on 16 September. He was produced before the Rouse Avenue Court at the end of his five-day custodial interrogation by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), which was allowed by the court on September 21. According to top sources in the Anti-Corruption Branch, the first FIR in the case was registered in January 2020 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act read with Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code. Later, Section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act as well as Section 409 of the IPC were added in the case. (INS)
