After this, in August, India blocked 8 YouTube based news channels. One of these YouTube channels was being operated by Pakistan. Along with this, the government had also banned a Facebook channel which used to run ‘fake and content against India’.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in a statement today that action has been taken by invoking emergency powers under the Information Technology Rules 2021. Its orders were given in August. The blocked YouTube channel was using fake and sensational thumbnails, pictures. These pictures and thumbnails were of fame news channel. Because of this, users were getting mislead. Users were also unable to understand the legality of the news.
