IND vs NZ 1st Test: The first match of the two-Test series between India and New Zealand is being played at Green Park, Kanpur. In this test, young batsman Shreyas Iyer has got a chance to debut. Shreyas, who made his ODI and T20 debut in the year 2017, got a chance to debut in Test cricket after four years. Before the toss, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar handed him the Test cap.

With his debut in the Kanpur Test, Shreyas Iyer has become the 303rd player to play Test cricket for India. He was handed over the Test caps in the presence of all the players and support staff of the team just before the toss at Green Park, Kanpur. Shreyas kissed as soon as he took the Test cap in his hand. BCCI has also shared this video on Twitter.

Made his international debut against New Zealand four years ago
Shreyas Iyer made his international debut against New Zealand. The T20 match held on 1 November 2017 was his first international match. So far, he has scored 580 runs in 32 T20 Internationals at an average of 27.61. During this, he has also scored three half-centuries. In the year 2017 itself, Shreyas also got a chance for ODI debut. In December, he got a chance to play the first ODI on the tour of Sri Lanka. He has scored 813 runs in 22 ODIs at an average of 42.78. He also has a century in his name in ODIs.
