New York Mayor Will Take Salary In Bitcoin, Wants To Make City A Crypto Hub

Bitcoin: The next new mayor of New York, Eric Adams, wants to see New York as a crypto hub. In view of this, he has decided to take salary in bitcoin after assuming his post in January. Eric Adams tweeted that, in New York, we are always on the move, so when I become mayor, I have decided to take my first three salaries in bitcoin.

Cryptocurrency champion Suarez wants Miami to be a center for the crypto industry. Eric Adams has become the second black mayor of America’s largest city. Competing with Suarez to turn his city into the crypto capital of the world.

Suarez’s progressive crypto policies have attracted venture firms, start-ups and crypto exchanges that have set up additional offices or have relocated to Miami. The city will also accept tax payments in cryptocurrencies. In June, Miami hosted Bitcoin 2021, which is touted as the largest bitcoin event in history. Thousands of bitcoin enthusiasts attended the conference. Miami also launched a cryptocurrency called MiamiCoin in August in collaboration with the non-profit organization Citicoins. The city had agreed to make donations to MiamiCoin from September 13, a program that has generated approximately $7.1 million for Miami.
