New Delhi. There is not much improvement in the level of air pollution in the country. People are also facing huge problems due to this. At the same time, according to the data released by the Central Pollution Control Board, Katihar in Bihar is at number one among the most polluted cities. At the same time, the country’s capital Delhi occupies the second position in the Air Quality Index with a very poor AQI.

The Central Pollution Control Board has measured the pollution levels of 163 different cities in the data released on Monday. According to this, Katihar in Bihar had the highest AQI (Air Quality Index) of 360 among 163 Indian cities on 7 November. The data shows that Delhi’s AQI at number two was 354. While Noida’s AQI in NCR stood at 328 and Ghaziabad’s AQI was 304. In addition, pollution levels in many other cities were measured to be very poor. The AQI was 339 in Begusarai in Bihar, 338 in Faridabad, Haryana, 334 in Ballabhgarh. At the same time, 331 in Siwan of Bihar, 324 in Sonipat, 312 in Gwalior and 305 in Gurugram were recorded.
Seeing that the air pollution does not improve much, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has appealed to the Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to reduce vehicular emissions on peripheral expressways to avoid traffic jams on the borders of the capital. Take measures to divert trucks carrying non-essential goods. At the same time, there is not much reduction in the incidents of stubble burning.

According to the Air Quality Index, AQI between zero to 50 is good, 51 to 100 satisfactory, 101 to 200 moderate, 201 to 300 poor, 301 to 400 very poor and 401 to 500. AQI is considered severe. (IANS)
