Harmanpreet Kaur allround Show: Melbourne Renegades defeated Sydney Sixers by seven wickets in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) on Sunday with India’s T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s all-rounder play. Harmanpreet played an unbeaten 35 not out after taking two wickets for 17 runs in his four overs, as his team achieved the target of 119 runs for victory with 18 balls to spare.

Player of the Match 32-year-old Harmanpreet hit one four and two sixes in an unbeaten innings of 29 balls. However, it was a disappointing day for India’s young opener Shefali Verma, playing for Sydney’s team. She was dismissed by Melbourne captain Sophie Molyneux without opening the account.

Shefali’s Indian teammate at Sydney Sixers, Radha Yadav, took 12 runs in two overs to take a wicket, but it was not enough to stop Melbourne. In another match of the day, Poonam Yadav conceded 19 runs in two overs but her team Brisbane Heat managed to beat Adelaide Strikers by five wickets in a rain-hit match.
