New Congress needed if you want to fight BJP… Tharoor’s second punch after open debate challenge

Kharge and Tharoor are candidates for the post of Congress President. If neither of these two party leaders withdraw their nominations, voting will be held on October 17, with over 9,000 delegates voting.

There is not much time left in the election of Congress President. After 22 years, this post is going to be elected in the Congress. A few days back, Tharoor had challenged that he was ready for an open public debate. anymore Mallikarjun Kharge Retaliated and said that we do not have to fight amongst ourselves, but together we have to fight with BJP. Tharoor has agreed to this statement of his, but has said that a new strong Congress is needed to fight the BJP.

Mallikarjuna said on Monday after advocating for a debate with Kharge that he agrees with Kharge that both have to fight not with each other but with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He tweeted, ‘I agree with Kharge ji that all of us in Congress have to compete with BJP instead of each other. There is no ideological difference between us.

‘This fight is only against BJP’

“Our comrades who voted on October 17 only have to decide how this (fight against the BJP) can be done most effectively,” Tharoor, a Lok Sabha member, said. Tharoor had on Sunday said he was open to a public debate with Mallikarjun Kharge as it would spur people’s interest in the party, as was the case in the recent UK election to the leadership post of the Conservative Party.

Congress issued guidelines for campaigning

On his remarks, Kharge said that he and Tharoor have to fight together against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Kharge also said that he and Tharoor have to work together against issues like inflation and unemployment as well as against the ideology of BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The Congress’s Central Election Authority on Monday made it clear that there should be no malicious campaign against any candidate in the election for the party president.

Voting on October 17

Kharge and Tharoor are candidates for the post of Congress President. If neither of these two party leaders withdraw their nominations, voting will be held on October 17, in which more than 9,000 delegates (members of the electoral college) will vote. Counting of votes will take place on October 19. By the way, Tharoor has made it clear that he will contest the elections.
