Total lunar eclipse will be visible in India on November 8

New Delhi. Two days later, on November 8, a total lunar eclipse is going to take place. The eclipse will be visible at all places in India at the time of moonrise. However, the beginning of the partial and complete phase of the eclipse will not be visible from any place in India, as this event would have started before moonrise in India. This is going to be the last lunar eclipse of the year. The Ministry of Earth Sciences said that the end of both the full and partial phases of the eclipse will be visible from the eastern parts of the country. Only the end of the partial phase will be visible from the rest of the country. Apart from India, the lunar eclipse will also be visible in the regions of South America, North America, Australia, Asia, North Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean. According to Indian time, the lunar eclipse will start at 14.39 minutes, whose full phase will start at 15.46 minutes.

The complete phase of the eclipse will end at 17.12 minutes and the partial phase will end at 18.19 minutes. The next lunar eclipse in India will occur on 28 October 2023, which will be a partial lunar eclipse. Prior to this, the lunar eclipse occurred in India on 19 November 2021. According to the information, the full phase of the eclipse will be going on at the time of moonrise in the cities of Kolkata and Guwahati located in the eastern part of the country. The period from the time of moonrise to the end of the full phase in Kolkata will be of 20 minutes and the period from the time of moonrise to the end of the partial phase of the eclipse will be of 1 hour 27 minutes. In Guwahati, the period from the time of moonrise to the end of the full phase will be 38 minutes, while there the period from the time of moonrise to the end of the partial phase of the eclipse will be of 1 hour 45 minutes.

In other cities of the country- Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore, there will be moonrise after the end of the full phase and at that time a partial eclipse will be going on and the period from the time of moonrise to the end of the partial phase of the eclipse in the above cities is 50 minutes respectively. , 18 minutes, 40 minutes and 29 minutes. Significantly, a lunar eclipse occurs on a full moon, when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and all three lie in a straight line. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon is completely covered by the Earth’s shadow and a partial lunar eclipse occurs when only a part of the Moon is covered by the Earth’s shadow. (IANS)
