Man government’s decision will end gun culture: Kang

Chandigarh. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has welcomed the decision of the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab to review arms licenses and cancel non-essential licenses. AAP’s chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang told reporters here on Monday that the government’s decision will end gun culture from the state by snatching weapons from people of criminal image. Senior party leader Neel Garg said that the previous Badal and Congress government distributed arms licenses to a large number of unnecessary people, which encouraged gun culture in Punjab and spoiled the atmosphere of the society.

He said that during the last few years many such unfortunate incidents have come to light in which people lost their lives due to waving of weapons in auspicious events like marriages. By conducting a review, right and wrong people will be known and only those in need will be able to get arms licenses. Spokesperson Neel Garg said that this decision of the Mann government will improve the image of Punjab at the national and international level. It will prevent the youth from going on the wrong path and will establish an atmosphere of peace and harmony in the society. (talk)
