The villagers say that whenever an attempt was made to erect this statue, something untoward happened here, after all, why do they worship Ravana, on this they say that they are the descendants of Ravana, as well as the knowledgeable Ravana. He was a knower of Vedas and a devotee of Shiva, so he worships him.
There is a village in Vidisha district where there is a platform of Meghnath. It is considered a symbol of Meghnath and special worship is done here on the occasion of Vijayadashmi. The people of the village believe that the worship of this platform is necessary before doing any auspicious work, similarly in Bhatkhedi of Rajgarh district (Rajgarh district), the tradition of worshiping Ravana has been going on for years.
