But this match is clouded by crisis. In fact, a petition has been filed in the Jharkhand High Court with a demand to postpone this match to be played in Ranchi on Friday or to allow the match to be held only with half the capacity of the stadium.

Advocate Dheeraj Kumar of Jharkhand High Court has filed a public interest litigation in the High Court against opening of 100 per cent seats for spectators in the second T20 match between New Zealand and India at JSCA Stadium in Jharkhand on Friday.

Dheeraj Kumar has said in his petition that when the temple and all the courts and many other offices in the state are working with 50 percent staff due to corona infection, then under what rule did the state government organize the India-New Zealand match in the stadium. Events are allowed with 100 percent spectators.
