Virat Kohli Dressing Room Speech: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli’s dream of winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy has been shattered. They had to face defeat by 6 wickets at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Eliminator match on Monday. With this, under the captaincy of Kohli, RCB once again missed out on becoming the champion. Under his leadership, the team was playing in the IPL for the last time.

After the match played in Sharjah, Kohli gave a speech in the dressing room. RCB has shared a video on its Twitter handle in which Kohli described the 2021 season as a great one for the team. Kohli said, ‘To be honest, the season of 2016 was the most special for us, but I think the season of 2021 was the best. If I look at the performance of the team in this season, then I can say one thing with certainty that this year we enjoyed cricket the most. Kohli further said that being a part of this group is special for me in itself. The way we handled defeat and victory is very special.

Kohli said – disappointed but not broken

Virat Kohli further said that we worked hard to reach here. Yes we are disappointed but not broken. We are proud of our game. I got a chance to captain this franchise for 9 years and will always be thankful to you for that. Let us tell you that the 2016 season was also the best for Kohli personally. He scored 973 runs in that season. Kohli had scored 4 centuries during this period. His strike rate was 152.03.

Kohli had announced his resignation from the captaincy of RCB before the start of the second phase of IPL-14. He had said that he will no longer be the captain of RCB after this season. He was leading this team since 2013. Kohli was given the command of the team in place of Daniel Vettori.
