Mumbai/Beed. In Maharashtra, Beed city unit president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Bhagirath Biyani allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a licensed revolver at his house on Tuesday. Biyani allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with his licensed gun at his house in Mira Nagar area of Peth Beed police station area, a police official said.
Biyani’s family found him dead in the afternoon and was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, the official said. Beed Superintendent of Police Nand Kumar Thakur said, “Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide and the police is probing every aspect of it.” He told that there is a bullet mark on Biyani’s ear. The inspection of the matter is going on. The official said that the BJP leader, around 50, was suffering from some health problems. He told that Biyani had gone to his room on Monday night, but he did not come out on Tuesday morning, after which his family members broke inside the door. (Language)
