IPL 2021: The second phase of IPL 2021 is starting from today in UAE. During the first phase played in India, the team of Delhi Capitals (DC) was seen in excellent form. Delhi Capitals has shared this video of Rishabh Pant on their official social media handle. In the video, Pant expressed hope for the team’s better performance in the second phase in the UAE as well. He said, “Our real target is to win the IPL trophy this year. But as I have said many times before, we try to keep our focus on this process. I hope we played the way we played in the first phase of IPL. Yes, we will continue that here and this time we will be able to capture the title of IPL.
Let us tell you that the team of Delhi Capitals, led by captain Rishabh Pant, will play their first match of this second phase against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 22 September.
Pant said this about the time during the quarantine
After returning from England, like other members of Team India, Rishabh Pant also had to be quarantined for six days. This is mandatory under the protocol of IPL. Regarding the time of Quarantine, Pant said, “In Quarantine, I was spending most of the time sitting outside the balcony.”
He also said, “It feels great to come out of Quarantine. You know how difficult it is to spend time in Quarantine these days. It is good to come out and see people once again. It feels good to be with fellow players It was very hot here during the training session on the first day. I am trying to adjust to the conditions. Hopefully I will feel better in the next two to three days.”
Pant was made captain after Shreyas Iyer’s injury
Before the first phase of IPL 2021, Shreyas Iyer was out of the team due to a shoulder injury. After which Rishabh Pant was made the captain of the Delhi team in his place. The performance of the team under his captaincy has also been very good. This is the reason why the team management has decided to retain Rishabh Pant as the captain of the team despite the return of Shreyas Iyer.
