Ban on five products of Baba Ramdev’s firm revoked

Dehradun. Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev’s Divine Pharmacy on production of five medicines for the treatment of diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma, esophagus and high cholesterol Uttarakhand Ayurveda and Unani Licensing Authority (Uttarakhand Ayurveda and Unani Licensing Authority) has set aside the ban order.

Modifying its earlier order, the authority on Saturday issued a new order allowing the company to continue production of these drugs. Referring to the previous order dated November 9, State Health Authority’s Drug Controller GCN Jangpangi said it was issued in haste. “We should have given the company time to clarify our point of view before issuing the order,” he said.

Ramdev’s close aide Acharya Balkrishna has thanked the state government for rectifying the mistake. In its previous order, the authority had asked Divya Pharmacy to stop production of its five products, BPagrut, Madhugrut, Thyrogrit, Lipidome tablets and Igrut Gold tablets.

It was also said in the order that the company can resume production only after taking the approval of its revised formulation sheet from the authority. The action against Divya Pharmacy was taken on the complaint of KV Babu, a doctor from Kerala, in which he had accused the company of violating the Drugs and Miracle Remedies (Captive Advertisements) Act and the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
