Ashes Series: Will any fast bowler get the captaincy of Australia Test team after 65 years?

Ashes Series: In the year 2018, Australia Test team captain Steve Smith was removed from the post of captain after the ball-tampering controversy during the tour of South Africa. Recently, Tim Paine has decided to step down from the captaincy of the Test team over an old sex chat case. In this way, Australia’s last two Test captains have had to step down due to allegations of bad behavior.

Earlier in 1956, fast bowler Ray Lindwalls was made captain for a Test on India tour. After him, no fast bowler has got the command of Australia Test team. Former Australia captain Steve Waugh had said earlier this month that the time has come for a bowler to be given the captaincy of the Test team. He had told Pat Cummins his first choice. Australia’s middle order batsman Travis Head also indicated to the media on Friday that Pat Cummins should be made the captain. He had said, ‘Pat is definitely a contender to be the captain. It seems difficult not to give them a chance. He has every ability to be a leader.’
